Linda Brady

Obituary of Linda Brady

Linda Brady, 77, passed peacefully in Rancho Mirage, California on November 8, 2019, after bravely battling Parkinson’s for more than twenty years.

Born in Clarkdale, Arizona, Linda moved to California as an infant to begin her life as a permanent “California Girl.” At the age of seven, since Linda was tired of her mother Vivian leaving her to go to work, she proposed to her future stepfather Donald Marlatt asking him to marry her mom so she could stay home with her.

After graduating from Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra and marrying her high school sweetheart, Linda gave birth to three amazing children whom she loved dearly. Although the marriage didn’t last, Linda instilled in her children the strong values necessary to face any challenges they may come across.

Professionally, Linda had a varied resume. From working as a vice president for an association management company where she coordinated all meetings/events and travel for all the different associations they represented to serving in various positions within the Tustin Unified School District with the last position being executive secretary to the district superintendent.

In March of 1998, Linda met the love of her life, William (Bill), on a blind date arranged by co-conspirators — her boss and Bill’s sister-in-law! They enjoyed the life as snowbirds — going between California and different parts of Ontario, Canada, as well as traveling to various other parts of the world. The two of them were meant to be and stayed together through thick and thin including all the tortures that Parkinson’s bestowed upon them.

Linda is survived by her soulmate William Sterritt, daughter Diana Gentry and her significant other Clifford Park, daughter Tanya Deveau, son Jeff Brady and his wife Karen, and two bonus sons Todd Sterritt and his significant other Veronik McFadden and Trevor Sterritt and his wife Jenny Kourany. Linda is also survived by five grandchildren: Christian Brady, Shaye Deveau, Lauryn Brady, Saige Deveau, and Samantha Sterritt. She is preceded in death by her mother Vivian Marlatt and stepfather Donald Marlatt.

A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held after the first of the year in Palm Desert, California. Linda will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
