Obituary of Celia Chavez

Celia Isais Chavez was born January 11,1932. God took her to join him May 13, 2021.
Celia was born in Aguascalientes, Aguascalientes Mexico and came to Santa Barbara in 1957. She worked at St Francis Hospital for 28 years until she retired in 1997.

Her passions in life were her family, cleaning, and gardening. As everyone she left behind can attest she was an amazing cook!

We would like to give our thanks to the wonderful nurses at VNA Health for all their help at a very difficult time for our family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Ruben Chavez. She is survived by her children Martha Chavez-Rodriguez (Antonio), Ruben Chavez(Susie), and Enrique Chavez. Grandchildren Ruben Chavez Jr., Sara Chaidez(Omar), Marco Alvarez, Elisa Chavez, Andres Alvarez, Vanessa Alvarez, and Mia Chavez. Great grandchildren Celia Chavez, Mariah Chavez, Layla Chaidez, Giselle Chaidez, twins Celia Ray and Leah Chavez.

Rosary will be held on May 27th at 6:30 pm.  at McDermott-Crockett Mortuary at 2020 Chapala St. Funeral mass will be held on May 28th at 11:00 am Calvary Cemetery 199 N. Hope Avenue
