Obituary of Augustine Gomez Leyva

Remembering the life of a legend whose legacy will live on forever in our family.

Born Augustine Gomez Leyva on August 28, 1927 in Chavez Ravine Palo Verde, Los Angeles to parents Genaro Marquez Leyva and Soladad Gomez Leyva of Mexico.

Left college to serve in the United States Marine Corps during WWII stationed in Guam. Once a Marine always a Marine.

Spent years as a Missionary spreading Gods word in Mexico and Los Angeles streets. Won many family, friends and strangers hearts to God.

Married his love he met in Hollywood while preaching on the street corner till her death 64 years later.
Raised and provided for 6 kids and helped raise 4 grandkids.

Retired after 36 years working at Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles.

Lead an exemplary lifestyle, a true gentleman through out all his 94 years on earth. Always working, always smiling, always cheerful, always happy to see his loved ones. Till his last day always saying thank you and being gracious.

He lived a full life and is now with his Heavenly Father, his wife, son, parents and siblings. Rejoice for him!
